Recall Campaign – RECARO TIAN (CORE and ELITE)
A potential issue has been identified in certain RECARO TIAN child seats (CORE and ELITE models) sold since August 2020. This issue may involve an interference between the harness system and internal components of the seat. As a result, difficulties may arise when adjusting the harness system or—in isolated cases—the integrity of the harness system may be compromised during size adjustment.
Since the safety of our customers is our top priority, we ask all affected consumers to stop using the mentioned child seats until they are replaced.

Trade-in Promotion - RECARO Zero.1
As part of our ongoing quality control procedures, we have identified a non-conformity in a clearly identifiable production batch of the Recaro Zero.1 child seat that does not meet our high quality standards.
Under certain conditions, the straps securing the child in the affected seats may loosen. This can compromise safety when the seat is used in the forward-facing position. The cause of this is a manufacturing defect in the strap adjuster. Only the Recaro Zero.1 model within a clearly defined production batch is affected. All other Recaro Child Safety products are not affected.
The safety of our customers is our top priority. Therefore, we have decided to replace all affected seats. Until you receive the replacement model, we ask that you use the seat exclusively in the rear-facing position.
Customers with an affected product will, of course, receive a new Recaro Zero.1 or Recaro Optia child seat free of charge. With this measure, we are ensuring that no affected product remains in use.
To arrange for a replacement seat, please contact us directly at info@recaro-cs.com
Trade-in Promotion - RECARO Optia
The safety of our customers is Recaro Child Safety’s top priority. For this reason, we have decided to suspend shipments of the Recaro Optia child safety seat as a precautionary measure and to discontinue further sales.
Even though the observed defect could not be reproduced under more rigorous test conditions, Recaro Child Safety is replacing all Recaro Optia seats to ensure maximum safety.
With this measure, we are ensuring that no affected product remains in use and that our customers can always rely on the highest safety standards.
Exchange Program - RECARO Fix Base
Recaro Child Safety is launching a free replacement program for the Recaro fix base, which is compatible with the Optia child seat and the Privia infant carrier. Only products from a specific production batch with serial numbers ranging from ER01000000 up to and including ER01017825 are affected. The serial number is located on a sticker on the underside of the base.Internal testing has revealed that while this batch meets the ECE-R44/04 safety standard, under very high loads—exceeding the standard—the retention hooks may deform when used in combination with the Optia child seat. In extreme cases, this could cause the seat to detach from the base. All other products are not affected.
Since the safety of our customers is our top priority, we recommend replacing the base regardless of whether it is currently being used with the Optia or Privia. If you have any questions, please email us at info@recaro-cs.com
